The dotted-underlined words you see throughout the Bible are cross-references.
To view them, simply long-pressing down on a dotted-underlined word. Then tap on Cross-reference or Strong's (if you are viewing a Strong's Concordance).

Searching for 2 or. 3 words in a verse, most of the time,, comes up empty. No results. I tried letter perfect ; Holy, holy, holy ; with and without quotes from Isaiah 6:3 and got. No results. Even single word searches most most ufo the time c come up empty. What am i doing wrong?
Cross references not showing
Please make sure that you are viewing a translation that offers cross references (IE: NIV, NLT, HCSB, etc...). Some translations don't offer cross-references (IE: KJV).
At least in the most current version of the Bible app (7.11.5), the instructions given here for pulling up cross-references and those for bringing up Strong's definitions are no longer complete.
Instead, long-pressing an underlined word will result in a narrow bar appearing across the top of the screen. On the right side of this bar, select "Cross-ref" or "Strong's" to complete your intended selection. The instructions provided by Cory do need to be updated to reflect this change in behavior by the Tecarta Bible app.
Hi Bob, sorry for the confusion. :( Because you are using an older version of Android, your cross-references will look different (aka the toolbar) from users who are using Android Marshmallow and higher. Newer versions of Android display a simple button popup instead of a toolbar.
Ah, apologies for assuming that my experience was the same as all other Android users! It helps when people are perusing this information to know what their possible experiences will be, depending on the version of Android...
