Ready for some serious Bible study?
In addition to phones, the latest version of Tecarta Bible works great on tablets and M1/M2 Macs, where you can have as many views open as your screen will fit:
Opening a Study Bible or Commentary
To open a Study Bible or Commentary, tap the abbreviation in the "view action bar" at the top of the view:
Then find the Study Bible or Commentary you want to open, and tap it:
In this example, we chose the Life Application Study Bible. When it opens, it looks something like this:
Choosing between viewing Bible text or study notes
Study Bibles and Commentaries that have an associated Bible, by default show the Bible text interspersed with links to related study notes, articles, and resources (maps, images, etc.).
You'll notice in the "view action bar" it shows LASB and NLT. The first is the abbreviation of the Study Bible or Commentary, the second is the abbreviation of the associated Bible. To change the associated Bible, tap its abbreviation and select the Bible translation you'd like to use.
If you prefer to view just the study notes for the chapter, and not Bible text, tap the view menu (⌄), and then tap "Hide Bible Text":
Then, instead of the Bible text, you will see all the study notes for the chapter interspersed with related study resources:
Split View
To view your Study Bible notes side by side with Bible text, you just need to open another view like this:
Tap the view menu at the top (⌄), and then tap "Add view":
Then, tap the the title you want to open. For example, the NLT:
You'll now see both the LASB and NLT open in two separate views. The new version of the app allows you to view two views in portrait, not just in landscape:
You can also view them in landscape by rotating your phone:
If you want to rearrange the views, for example, you want to move the NLT to be on the left side, just drag the view action bar at the top of the view like this:
And drop it on the "View Here" drop area on the left side:
And now, the NLT is on the left:
